Sicily Golf Vacations
Don't just visit Sicily. Play it!
If you're thinking about golf, think Sicily. Our enchanting island boasts three full-service golf resorts. We'd like to propose a golf vacation at the Palmerston Etna Golf Resort and Spa. First, a quick note about the resort's name. Henry John Temple, third Viscount Palmerston (1784-1865) was a British prime minister who supported the unification of Italy, which he lived to see just a few years before his death. Now on to golf in Sicily.

Enjoy the golf and the scenery.The nearby Picciolo is a challenging 18-hole, par 72 golf course (with an overall range of 5,870 meters) set among the foothills of Mount Etna, Europe's largest active volcano. Lava flows are not a serious threat, however, so you can enjoy a few pleasant rounds under the delightful Sicilian sunshine. Picciolo offers a driving range and putting and pitching greens. The club house is a restored aristocratic villa of the eighteenth century.

The resort itself covers more than fifty-five hectares and includes vineyards, walnut and hazel groves and some olive orchards. Lodging includes a series of private villas. The Etna national park, the Alcantara gorge and hilltop Taormina are all close by.

The spa receives guests warmly, enveloping them in a relaxed, intimate and satisfying atmosphere. Amenities include a cardio-fitness room, sauna, Turkish bath, traditional showers, hydrotherapeutic heated swimming pool, hydro massage, juice bar, relaxation room and various cabins available for face and body treatments.

There are sixty-seven standard and superior rooms, furnished in a classic Sicilian style with wooden furniture and fully equipped. The rooms vary in their design. Some have balconies and a magnificent view of the volcano; others have a graceful veranda and look onto the interior garden; while others again have a pleasant and relaxing view over the attractive surrounding countryside. There are nine suites and twenty-two junior suites.

Through 30 April 2009, for 690 euros per person (normally €795), you get:

- 7 nights in double occupancy at the Palmerston Etna Golf;

- 7 breakfasts (buffet style);

- greens access for five rounds on 18 holes at the Picciolo Golf Club;

- 1 time use of the spa

This vacation can be personalised to your taste. This might include visits to Taormina, excursions to Mount Etna or other activities. Contact us for further details.
